Benefits of olive oil consumption

Olive oil obtained by the mechanical process of cold extraction represents the elixir of life. The influence of extra virgin olive oil in the prevention of cardiovascular, cancerous, gastroenterological and other diseases has been scientifically proven over the years. Pursuant to European regulation no. 432/2012, it is prescribed that extra virgin olive oil that contains about 5 mg of hydroxy-tyrosol and its derivatives per 20 g of olive oil, contributes to the prevention of oxidative damage to blood lipids, which is also the amount of olive oil recommended on a daily basis. In order to consume such healthy olive oils, rich in polyphenols and other chemical compounds that have antioxidant and antimicrobial effects, thus positively affecting and improving consumers immune system, it is not necessary to go to Italy, Spain, Portugal nor Greece – it is enough to visit Bar, Montenegro and enjoy in an unforgettable olive oil experience.

Barska uljara Ltd. breathed life into old olive groves, and Barsko zlato® is produced from olives of the autochthonous Žutica variety, harvested at the stage of optimal maturity, which has been cultivated in Bar since the time of ancient Greece. Produced in the most modern plant for processing olives in Montenegro, exclusively by mechanical cold centrifugation procedures, Barsko zlato® is the most award-winning Montenegrin olive oil and the first produced extra-virgin olive oil with a protected trademark.

Barsko zlato® olive oil is characterized by harmonious taste of fruitiness, spiciness and bitterness, while quality analyzes show a wealth of antioxidants and polyphenols, and a low content of free fatty acids, making it an ideal comrade in the protection of the immune system and the overall health of the organism, and is an irreplaceable supplement in the Mediterranean feed.
